Janurary Hilltop Marriage Coaching Newsletter

Greetings from Hilltop!

We pray 2026 has been treating you well. It’s been good for the Hilleys. We are approaching six years of operating as a business and ministry under the banner of Hilltop Marriage Coaching. The Lord never ceases to amaze us with all He does through it. We went from wondering if it was going to work and praying for ANY client we could get, to nearly always being at capacity and wondering how we’re going to fit everyone on the schedule. We recently received a surprise letter from Business Rate saying we were officially recognized as the “Best of 2025 Scottsdale Award Winner in the Marriage or Relationship Counselor Category”. I’m sure it doesn’t mean much, but it still felt pretty cool for us.

Another incredibly cool recent highlight was being featured in Calvary Chapel magazine. Tim did an interview last Summer and we honestly sort of forgot about it. Then last week our pastor handed us a copy of the magazine and, through tears, Tim and I read the article together.

It was another “pinch me” moment, where you just stand in awe of how God means it when He says He works all things together for good. From divorce papers in 2014 to telling the redemption story God had written and continues to write for our marriage and family, for our lives, we can hardly believe it.

These are some lyrics from one of our favorite praise and worship songs, “Where I’m Standing Now”, by Phil Wickham.

“Out of the wilderness

Into Your deliverance

Look where I'm standing now

These hands that once were chained

Now lifted high in praise

Look where I'm standing now

Look where I'm standing now

I stand on the chain-breaking

Miracle-making

Powerful name of Jesus

On the body-raising

Prodigal-saving

Powerful name of Jesus”

This is my husband, who just twelve short years ago, turned and ran from the Lord, claiming He never did anything for him, and that the resurrection was not real. This is my husband now, with his hands lifted high, praising the King of Kings, our Deliverer, our Rescuer, our Redeemer, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Don’t ever let anyone tell you He is not a God of miracles. We are living one out every day.

  Marriage Tip of the Month

Ladies and Gentlemen, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Yeah, yeah, maybe you think it’s a “corporate holiday designed by the flower, chocolate, and card companies to generate more revenue”. So what?!! Celebrate it anyway!! It’s an emphasized opportunity to pour some romance into your marriage. Hey, if you’re managing to do that on a regular basis without the prompting of a holiday, then more power to you. Keep up the good work. But let’s be honest. I think we all drop the ball on keeping things sweet and spicy all year round. Let February 14th be a day that you and your spouse actually look forward to. Take the chance to sweep each other off your feet. Keep things fresh. Remind yourselves that it started with the two of you and a spark, before kids, mortgages, and all the busyness of life. It started with love and romance. Don’t let it die. So, go ahead, buy the flowers. Wear the cologne. Put on something flirty. Solomon and the Shulamite know what I’m talkin’ about! (Read Song of Solomon.😉) “May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife [husband] of your youth.” (Proverbs 5:18)

Enjoy your husband. Enjoy your wife. Be in love. Be each other’s valentine. 💘

Thanks for reading!

With love and prayers, Tim and Moriah Hilley

Be blessed this month, as you fix your eyes on Jesus!

Tim and Moriah Hilley at Hilltop Marriage Coaching are truly incredible followers of Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit, and genuinely passionate about helping couples thrive through Christ.

We came to them with what we thought was already a pretty good marriage, but we wanted to tighten things up and prioritize our relationship amid the busyness of life with three young girls (ages 10, 8, and 1). Over just two months, they helped us sharpen our marriage like honing a knife to keep the edge sharp. Their Godly, biblical advice was spot-on, always pointing us back to Jesus, prayer, and His presence rather than just plans and tasks.

They emphasized daily prayer together as a foundation, which transformed our communication and deepened our connection. We rediscovered romance—something that too often feels like "what happened before we got married" (lol, that online definition hit home!). With their encouragement, we built in purposeful date nights (big ones monthly, little ones as often as possible), set a dedicated date budget, and learned to protect those moments. We also worked on boundaries (healthy ones that promote life, not stunt it), saying no more often to free up time, prioritizing breaks, and avoiding escapism so we could truly enjoy each other and chase God's ambitions over our own.

Even now, months later, we're faithful to our prayer routine, weekly check-ins to celebrate the good, and keeping romance alive. Tim and Moriah lead with transparency, love, and practical tools rooted in Scripture... we love them and their ministry!

I highly recommend Hilltop Marriage Coaching to any couple, especially those with a strong foundation who just need a little sharpening. If you're ready to invite the Holy Spirit more fully into your marriage, they will bless you abundantly!”
